.@GOPLeader Kevin McCarthy’s conduct deserves more media scrutiny. Specifically, his meltdown and unbecoming panic. He told his members that it was “ an easy vote” to embrace the Big Lie and assert the election was stolen. He told them it was an “easy vote” to nullify the vote
Kevin McCarthy is a weak little boy.
He can't handle the truth.
Allow me to offer some thoughts on how it will go.
It won't. This is stupid. You beclowned yourself and proved you aren't a serious Congressmember or even there to try and govern. You're in DC to be troll. Your constituents need real help. This ain't it @RepMTG
.@HawleyMO Stanford; Yale Law School, Oxford, clerk to the Chief Justice of the United States. Academically brilliant. Josh has been told he is special all of his life. He became a US Senator before he was forty. All of that achievement obscured how soulless, rotten and cynical
Over the last few years, I kept in touch with some QAnon supporters through DMs, checking in on them to see if they'd ever come out of it when their next doomsday came and went.
They'd typically first message me calling me a Satanic pedophile. I'd ignore it and ask questions.
Speaking of @HawleyMO, he hasn't tweeted since 1/7- when his biggest concern (on Jan. 7th!) Was the fact that S&S was declining to publish his book for him.
The wealthy and powerful spent decades creating a hateful, paranoid environment where conspiracy theories enabled the dismantling of government as a public good, culminating in Trump and an outright fascist movement.
Now it’s time to pretend they’re horrified by their creation.
This is very good, very insightful analysis.
(THREAD) Media has yet to do a deep dive on precisely what Trump *said* in his January 6 speech in DC—a speech now called an "incitement to insurrection," and the basis for an article of impeachment coming Monday. This thread unpacks the speech. I hope you'll read on and RETWEET.
This is... sickening.
Trump now plans to leave the WH on inauguration morning and has told people he wants a big send-off. He’s shut down discussion of resigning and told aides he never wants to hear anyone mention the name Richard Nixon to him. W @kaitlancollins
Replying to @gtconway3d: The Nixon comparison is so unfair—to Nixon.
