After today, there's no doubt that former President Trump incited the insurrection and that he should be convicted & barred from office. The question now is whether my colleagues will accept reality & uphold their oath to our democracy, or if they're willing to ignore the truth.
We need 1,000 retweets on this. Marco Rubio hates this account because in 3 months we have humiliated him. After we started tweeting at him he turned his comments off. We are only 18.6K followers away from 100K. Can you retweet this & ask everyone you know to follow this account?
It's not only constitutional to impeach a president after he's left office—it's important for the future of our country that we make clear words win in a democracy, not brute force. Former President Trump must be held accountable for his role in the January 6 insurrection.
Cruz response to @AOC tweet: "You know, there's a lot of partisan anger and rage on the Democratic side. It's, it's not healthy for our country, it's certainly not conducive of healing or unity, but everyone has to decide how they want to interact with others." via hill pool

“We need healing + unity, but I will not take any responsibility for my actions, nor will I acknowledge the contributions my lies made to the violence or the harm that it caused, nor do I believe anyone should be held accountable. But if you’re mad at that you’re divisive.” - GOP
Oh, there’s anger?
Now why would there be anger that Cruz amplified known lies about our election that fueled an insurrection that cost ppl’s lives?

Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed.
In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign.

Waste of time impeachment isn’t about accountability
It’s about demands from vengeance from the radical left
And a new “show” for the “Political Entertainment Industry”
Quick question: If someone helped bomb a building or incited an assassination attempt on Congress, do you think they should face trial?
It’s a simple yes or no.
Yes = Impeachment
No = You have 0 integrity to speak on our justice system, terrorism, & policing ever again
You were given prime space to say this in a billionaire-run rag that specifically amplifies right-wing views, part of a entire subsidized industry of right-wing outlets.
You’re not “muzzled,” Hawley. You’re just deeply unpopular, and aided insurrection.
And you need to resign.
