Today I was at the Lakeshore Mall in Sebring to announce a three-day vaccination site for 3,600 Highlands County seniors as we work to ensure that every senior who wants a shot, gets a shot.
It was great to be in Crystal River this morning to announce a new drive-thru vaccination site where over 3,000 vaccines will be administered to seniors in Citrus County over the next three days. #SeniorsFirst

Let me be clear: we will not let anybody close your schools, we will not let anybody take your jobs and we will not let anybody close your businesses!
Over the past many months, Florida has led the way by opening schools and protecting the jobs and livelihoods of its hard-working citizens – from construction workers to bartenders, from servers to hair stylists, everyone has a right to earn a living.
I see, in many parts of our country, a sad state of affairs: schools closed, businesses shuttered and lives destroyed. This calamitous reality is just the beginning of what will likely be long-term damage to children, families and society.
Today I will deliver my annual State of the State Address to a joint session of the Florida Legislature and Floridians at 11:00AM.

Florida has made smart decisions to prioritize our economy and get Floridians back to work. Now, our state is being penalized in the congressional stimulus bill, while other lockdown states are getting bailed out for their poor policy making.
Florida has vaccinated millions of seniors representing over 50% of our senior population. Counties with noteworthy coverage of seniors include:
St. Johns - 78% (of seniors vaccinated)
Leon - 73%
Nassau - 71 %
Alachua - 67%
Indian River - 67%

In Florida, we have put Seniors First from day one and I’m pleased to announce that starting tomorrow we are providing vaccines directly to seniors at the Venice Municipal Airport Festival Fairgrounds. @HealthyFla will vaccinate 4,000 people over two days at this site.
Earlier today, @FLCaseyDeSantis and I held a press conference to launch a new resiliency initiative for Florida schools. A big thanks to all the teams and organizations supportive of these important efforts for our students.
